Bengals Defeat Little Rock, 3-1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Idaho State earned a win day two of the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic beating Little Rock 3-1 Friday Night. 

Recap 

The Bengals improved to 6-2 on the season with the victory, earning their fourth consecutive win. Idaho State controlled much of the match behind an efficient offensive attack, a dominant performance at the net and 10 service aces. The Bengals hit .232 while holding Little Rock to just .122.

Idaho State set the tone immediately, holding Little Rock to a negative hitting percentage in a commanding 25-13 first-set victory. The Bengals kept their foot on the gas in the second, putting down 16 kills on .324 hitting to take the frame, 25-17, and build a 2-0 advantage.

Little Rock responded with a 25-21 win in the third, but Idaho State quickly regained control. The Bengals hit .308 with 15 kills and only three errors in the fourth while closing out the Trojans, 25-18, to secure the four-set victory.

Jaydin Watts powered the Bengals with another outstanding performance in the middle, finishing with a team-high 12 kills on .500 hitting, committing just one attacking error on 22 swings. Watts was equally impactful defensively, recording three solo blocks and four block assists to finish with a match-high 17 points.

Abby McClain added 11 kills on an efficient .346 hitting, while Annelie Wilson turned in a strong all-around performance with 10 kills, 15 digs and three service aces. Wilson's 15 digs led the Bengals and gave her a double-double on the night.

Idaho State continued to split the setting duties between Nora Waddoups and Kadence Marsh. Waddoups recorded 21 assists, nine digs and two aces, while Marsh finished with 20 assists, 11 digs and an ace.

The Bengals were especially effective from the service line and at the net. Aspen Boice matched Wilson with three aces while adding 11 digs, and ISU finished with 10 aces as a team. Idaho State also totaled 10 blocks, led by Watts' seven total blocks, helping force Little Rock into 28 attacking errors.
