David Muir enters his first season with Idaho State as the running backs and kickers coach for the Bengals. Muir will also serve as the recruiting coordinator.

Muir coached the running backs and kickers in spring ball this past year, and watched as running back David Beverly made significant strides towards becoming ISU's premiere back.

Muir comes to Idaho State most recently from UC Davis, where he spent the past year as an assistant wide receivers coach for the Aggies, who had a successful 6-4 campaign in their first season as a Division I-AA program. He went to UC Davis after helping Marshall to a GMAC Bowl win over Louisville in 2002 as a graduate assistant quarterbacks coach.

Muir has also served as the offensive coordinator at Menlo College and as a graduate assistant at Washington State, where he earned his degree in general studies in 1998. Muir played for the Cougars in 1997, serving as a backup quarterback to Ryan Leaf. He also received a master's in education administration in 2000 from Washington State.
