Derrick Roche enters his second year as the offensive line coach at Idaho State. Roche comes to Idaho State after spending the last three seasons at Millersville University coaching the offensive line.
Prior to Millersville, Roche was a graduate assistant coach at UTEP from August 2005- July 2008. During his time in El Paso he served as the special teams’ program coordinator and the offensive line GA. He was responsible special teams scouting report, defensive scout team, film break down and assisting in coaching the offensive line.
Roche has also spent time assisting the Washington State football camps and he was a volunteer assistant coach at Kentridge High School in 2004.
Roche played at Washington State from 1998-2003 where he was on the team that played in the Rose Bowl in 2003 and the Sun Bowl in 2001. He participated in the East-West Shrine game in January of 2003. Roche was an AFCA first-team All-American in 2002, a 2-time all-Pac-10 offensive line selection (2001-02) and a three-time Washington State Offensive Lineman of the Year. He also started 37 straight games and 40 during his collegiate playing career.
Roche graduated with a degree in sports management and an option in Advertising in December of 2003 from Washington State.
