Quinton Freeman enters his 3rd year with Idaho State University, and his second season as the Director of Academics for the Idaho State football team.

Prior to his current appointment, Freeman previously served as an academic advisor and student-athlete affairs administrator in ISU’s Athletic Administration. He bolstered the Student-Athlete Support Center with development of a mentor program for student-athletes who were “at-risk” for cultural and community failure, produced ISU’s Student-Athlete Support Center advising manual and provided academic advising to all student-athletes in the athletic department.

Since taking charge of the academics for the football team in January 2011, the Bengals have had unprecedented success in the classroom as a record 17 Bengals were named to the academic all-conference team. In the fall of 2011 the football team also had a 3.06 GPA with 51 student-athletes earning a 3.0 or better.

As Director of Football Academics, Freeman provides academic management and guides the development of the football programs coaches and student-athletes. He directs all day-to-day academic and compliance procedures and has liaison responsibility to ISU Athletic Administration and departments on the university campus.

Prior to returning to Idaho State, Freeman spent one year in the Student-Athlete Services department at Fresno State. While at Fresno State he was an academic advisor and CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator overseeing academics for football, women’s volleyball and equestrian. As the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator he was responsible for creating student-athlete programming that enhanced the student-athlete experience. He was also responsible for leading Fresno State Athletics first APPLE team through the creation and implementation of a student-athlete nutrition monitoring program.

A native of Moreno Valley, CA, Freeman is a four-year Bengal football letter winner, playing Safety from 2001-05. He currently holds single game and season interception records. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a minor in History in 2006 and a master’s degree in Athletic Administration in 2007.

Quinton and his wife Kim have two daughters, Kierra and Kaitlyn.
