David Marek concluded his second-year as a graduate assistant with the men's basketball program at Idaho State. His responsibilities include serving as the video coordinator, assisting with academic responsibilities and coordinates team-work outs. He completed his master's degree in the spring of 2014.
Marek played his collegiate ball at Southern Utah where he played under coach Bill Evans from 2005-07 and he finished his career playing for Roger Reid for the final two years. In the 2008-09 season he finished in the Top 10 in SUU history in 3-point field goal percentage. He graduated from SUU with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
Following his collegiate playing career he played professionally for three seasons in Spain, Czech Republic and Slovakia. He was a member of the Czech Republic National Team from 2008-10 and participated in the NBA program Basketball Without Borders.
Marek prepped at Laurinburg Prep in 2004-05 where his team went 40-0 and won the National Prep Championship and all 14 of his teammates went on to play Division I basketball.
