Katie Ware enters her fourth season as an Assistant Media Relations Director.  She handles statistics and communications for soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball and men's and women's tennis as well as assists with various other duties.  She also begins her second season as a volunteer coach for the men’s and women’s tennis teams.

For two months in the fall of 2010 she covered all 13 of Idaho State’s sports including football and men’s basketball during a rehiring phase for the Assistant A.D. of Media Relations position.  

Prior to her duties as the Assistant Media Relations Director, she worked as a graduate assistant in the media relations office handling the communications efforts for men’s and women’s track and cross country programs, as well as tennis and golf.  

She previously spent four years on the Idaho State women’s tennis team, formerly Katie Zigars, and worked in the media relations office as both a volunteer and as an intern.  

Ware was a four-year starter on the tennis team from 2004-07, earning Big Sky All-Academic honors in all four of her seasons.  She moved up from a walk-on to a scholarship athlete and played No. 1 doubles as a junior and senior and No. 4 singles for the Bengals as a junior and senior.  She was one of the best doubles performers for the Bengals over her four year career.

She was honored at the 2007 Bennion Banquent with the ISU Athletic Advisory Boards Scholar-Athlete Award.  Ware graduated in May of 2007 with a 3.92 grade point average in mass communication with an emphasis in advertising and public relations and a minor in marketing.  Ware completed her masters in athletic administration at Idaho State in the spring of 2010.  
    A native of Meridian, Idaho, she married Tyrell Ware in June 2011.
