Idaho State Indoor (2026): Markunas carried his momentum into the indoor season, showcasing versatility across middle- and long-distance events. He earned podium finishes at the Stacy Dragila Open with a 1:58.53 in the 800m and 4:21.86 in the mile, while also contributing to the distance medley relay (DMR) team, which placed fourth at the Big Sky Conference Championships with a time of 10:03.88. Markunas consistently posted top-25 finishes in individual events and proved to be a valuable all-around performer for the Bengals in his first indoor campaign.


Idaho State Cross Country (2025): Chase Markunas made an immediate impact in his freshman cross country season, consistently contributing to the Bengals’ team efforts across multiple distances. He posted strong finishes throughout the fall, highlighted by an 18th-place showing at the Bengal Invite and a 39th-place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships in the 8k. Markunas also competed at the NCAA Division I Mountain Region Championships, gaining valuable experience at the national level with a 10k finish of 35:00.1. With steady improvement and strong racing consistency, Markunas quickly established himself as a reliable young distance runner for Idaho State.
