Jed Sion enters his second season as an assistant coach for Idaho State after competing in the throwing events for four seasons. He was named all-conference four times throughout his tenure at Idaho State. During both the 2008 and 2009 indoor seasons he was named all-conference in the shot put. He also garnered all-conference honors in the shot put during the 2009 outdoor season and made the all-conference team for the discus during the 2007 outdoor season.

During the 2008-09 season, Sion recorded career bests in the discus (49.83 meters) and hammer throw (56.17 meters). Sion holds the 10th best discus performance with a throw of 166 feet, seven inches. He holds the third best hammer throw performance, notching 184 feet, three inches during the 2009 season.

Sion, a Pocatello, Idaho native, earned his bachelor’s degree in sport science and physical education sport management in 2009 from Idaho State University.
