Idaho State Outdoor (2025): James Kersey demonstrated versatility in his freshman outdoor season, competing in multiple events. At the Bengal Invitational (05/02/25), he achieved a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.61m (136'6"), placing 13th, and recorded a 13.00m (42'8") in the shot put, finishing 14th. He also ran the 100m in 12.29 seconds. Earlier in the season, Kersey threw 12.38m (40'7.5") in the shot put at the Utah Valley Collegiate Invitational (03/28/25), placing 18th. He participated in the high jump at the Bengal Invitational but did not record a height. 

Idaho State Indoor (2024–25): During the indoor season, Kersey achieved a personal best in the weight throw with a mark of 14.42m (47'3.75") at the Mountain States Games (02/14/25), placing 14th. He also recorded a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 13.57m (44'6.25") at the ISU Winter Open (12/06/24), finishing 6th. At the Snake River Open (01/16/25), he threw 12.85m (42'2") in the shot put, placing 19th.
