Biography

Idaho State Outdoor (2025): Jason Monroe showcased his sprinting prowess during his freshman outdoor season, achieving personal bests and contributing to relay successes. At the Bengal Invitational (05/02/25), he recorded a personal best of 10.88 seconds in the 100m, placing 15th in the preliminaries. He also ran a season-best 21.97 seconds in the 200m at the Utah Spring Classic (04/12/25), finishing 13th. Monroe was a key member of the 4x100m relay team, which achieved a season-best time of 40.65 seconds at the Ed Jacoby Twilight (04/25/25), securing 2nd place. Additionally, he contributed to the 4x400m relay team that posted a time of 3:16.24 at the Utah Valley Collegiate Invitational (03/28/25), finishing 3rd. 

Idaho State Indoor (2024–25): During the indoor season, Monroe demonstrated consistent performance in the 60m and 200m events. He achieved a personal best of 7.00 seconds in the 60m at the ISU Winter Open (12/06/24), placing 5th. In the 200m, he recorded a season-best time of 22.97 seconds at the Mountain States Games (02/14/25), finishing 19th in the preliminaries. Monroe also contributed to the 4x400m relay team that clocked 3:29.57 at the Stacy Dragila Open (02/07/25), earning 3rd place.


Canyon View High School: 3A State Champion and 3A high point scorer

Personal: Qwentyn is the son of Dawn and Lee Petty and he has five siblings Jyllian, Nadya, Annie, Tyanna and Evelynne. Here at Idaho State he is studying Geology Engineering and he spends a lot of time outdoors prospecting for gold. A fun fact about him is that he has visited 23 of the 63 national parks. Qwentyn has been running track since he was about three years old.
