Idaho State Indoor (2026): He continued his senior year with a #5 all-time performance in school history at the first meet, the Snake River Open, in the 3000m (8:20.33). He then followed this up by running 14:47.93 in the 5000m at the Riverfront Invitational for #10 all-time. He also dominated the mile throughout the year, running an altitude converted sub-4 performance with a 4:05.06 at the Bobcat Challenge and a new school record time of 4:02.28 at the Husky Classic, cementing himself as one of the most dominant distance athletes in ISU history.
Idaho State Cross Country (2025): Sunny started his senior year off combating injury, but overcoming it and helping the distance squad as the team's second runner. He raced three meets over the season, recording his best finish at the Big Sky Championships with a 29th place finish and helping the men's squad to a 4th place mark.Â
Idaho State Outdoor (2025): Sunny Gunn delivered a standout junior outdoor season, highlighted by a personal best of 3:47.21 in the 1500m at the Utah Valley Collegiate (03/28/25), ranking him among Idaho State’s top performers. He secured victories in both the 1500m (3:58.02) and the 5000m (14:48.05) at the Buc Scoring meet (03/21/25). At the Bryan Clay Invitational (04/18/25), Gunn ran 3:48.19 in the 1500m, showcasing his consistency at high-profile meets. He concluded the season at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships (05/17/25), finishing 10th in the 1500m with a time of 3:55.06.
Idaho State Indoor (2024–25): Gunn's indoor season featured a personal best of 4:06.92 in the mile at the Husky Classic (02/15/25). He also won the 800m at the Stacy Dragila Open (02/07/25) with a time of 1:56.82. At the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships (03/01/25), Gunn placed 14th in the mile (4:14.83) and contributed to the Distance Medley Relay team that finished 5th with a time of 10:18.40.
Idaho State Cross Country (2024): In his third cross country season, Gunn consistently led the Bengals. He placed 3rd at the LC State Invite (10/19/24) with a time of 24:06.0 in the 8k. At the Big Sky Conference Cross Country Championships (11/01/24), he finished 18th, contributing to Idaho State's best team finish since 2018. Gunn concluded the season at the NCAA Division I Mountain Region Championships (11/15/24), running the 10k in 32:15.1
Idaho State Outdoor (2024): Opened the year finishing 4th in the 1,500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational (04/13/24)... ran a personal best at the Aggie Invitational in the 1,500m (3:55.54s) to help secure a 4th place finish (04/20/24)... at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship ran a personal best time in the 800m (1:51.63s) (05/11/24)... named to the Big Sky Spring All-Academic Team.
Idaho State Indoor (2023-24): Opened the year running the mile at the Snake River Open (01/12/24)... had a pair of top-ten finishes in the 800m and the mile at the Stacy Dragila Open (01/26/24)... ran a personal best time in the mile (4:15.85s) at the Riverfront Invitational & Multis (02/03/24)... at the Mtn States Games ran a personal best in the 3,000m (8:43.87s) (02/10/24)... competed in the distance medley relay and placed 5th at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championship (02/24/24)... named to the Big Sky Winter All-Academic Team.
Idaho State Outdoor (2023): Ran in four meets during the season… competed at the Utah-WSU Spring Classic, BYU Robison Invitational, and the Bengal Invitational… finished the year competing in the 800m at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships (02/25/23)... named to the Big Sky Spring All-Academic Team.
Idaho State Indoor (2022-23): Competed in five meets this season… was a member of the 4x400m relay that finished 2nd at the Bobcat Challenge (01/21/23) and also 3rd at the Stacy Dragila Open (01/28/23)... ended the season competing in the 800m at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships (02/25/23)... named to the Big Sky Winter All-Academic Team.
