In one season Jessica Moore took a young Idaho State pitching staff and developed them into a Big Sky Championship staff. Moore, who will enter her second year as an assistant coach at ISU, developed Jessica Tolmie into a second-team All-Big Sky Conference honoree and senior Haley Douglas set the single-season all-time win record with 19. In 2014, ISU finished the season 35-20 and the growth of the pitching staff was a big reason for the success.

Moore assists in all aspects of Bengal softball with an emphasis on pitching.

Moore came to Idaho State as one of the most celebrated pitchers in University of Oregon history.  She finished her career this spring with school records in appearances (176), wins (100) and Strikeouts (915).

Moore played for Team USA in the summer of 2014 and she played for the squad in the 2013 Pan-American Games qualifier, the 2013 Softball World Cup and the 2013 Canada Cup.

The Sutter, Calif., native was a Top 10 finalist for 2013 USA Softball Player of the Year and garnered first-team All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2013 season.  She was honored with a third-team nod in 2012.

Moore led the Ducks to an appearance in the College World Series in 2012 and three appearances in the NCAA Super Regionals.

“Jessica has been preparing to play at a very high level for a very long time,” Head coach Julia Wright said. “The opportunity to share this knowledge with our current student-athletes will be a positive and very unique experience for our program.

She was a three-time All-Pac 12 performer and was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year in 2013. She was the sixth pick in the National Pro Fastpitch 2013 draft.
