Karlee Johnson

Karlee was hired by Head Coach Andrew Rich in the summer of 2023 to help assist with defense and statistical analysis.

"Karlee is a fantastic addition to our coaching staff," remarked Head Coach Andrew Rich. "She has a great idea on the system that we have in place here at Idaho State from her time playing at Boise State and will be able to add even more on the analytical side of things to our program. I am excited to see how she grows into this position and watch her grow as a coach."

Johnson is originally from Phoenix, Arizona but has been in the Boise area since 2016 because she played Division I softball at Boise State University (BSU) and spent the previous two years working as a Marketing Coordinator for the Boise Hawks. 

Over her five years at Boise State, Karlee appeared in 200 games making 163 starts. She ended with a career batting average of .267 and collected 114 hits- 17 doubles, two triples, and nine home runs. Johnson finished with a slugging percentage of .379 and tallied 56 RBI and 65 runs scored. 

Johnson was extremely versatile on defense and played multiple positions during her time at BSU from second base, third base, shortstop, outfield, to even catching a few games. She collected 272 putouts, 302 assists, and ended with a .955 fielding percentage!

  • Two-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete (2017, 2019)
  • Five-time Academic All-Mountain West (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
  • Five-time Academic Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) 
Karlee graduated from Boise State with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a master's in Business Administration.
