Rebekah Cervantes

Rebekah Cervantes has moved over to the academic advising side of athletics in the winter of 2024. She was most recently working as an Administrative Assistant in the Athletic Department here at Idaho State University (ISU) and before that she was the Associate Head Softball Coach at ISU. She is excited to focus on the holistic approach and support student-athletes in all aspects, not just on the field.

Cervantes arrived at Idaho State University as an assistant coach in the summer of 2021. Her responsibilities on the staff were mainly offense, film, recruiting, and worked closely with the team academic advisor to monitor an average of 25 student-athletes’ academic performance, goals, and progress towards degree requirements on an annual basis.

Over the last three seasons at Idaho State, she has helped rebuild the culture and as a result has turned the page for the program. As a group, in their first year they had eight individuals earn all-conference awards and this past season 12 individuals were honored from the conference. In total she helped five students-athletes earned first team honors, 10 earn second team honors, and nine have earned honorable mention. Along with all conference awards, the program has had 42 student-athlete named to the Big Sky Spring All-Academic Team and 36 were named NFCA/Easton All-America Scholar-Athletes over the last three seasons.

Before joining the staff at Idaho State University, Cervantes was a volunteer coach at Boise State for two seasons under the leadership of Maggie Huffaker and Andrew Rich.

Cervantes, a Bronco alum, finished her collegiate playing career in 2019. During her four years with Boise State, she was named a four-time All Mountain West First Team honoree, the 2018 MW Player of the Year, 2016 MW Freshman of the Year and a three-time NFCA All-Pacific Region honoree. She graduated with a bachelor of science in Sociology.

Cervantes was born and raised in Visalia, California. She was a three-sport student-athlete at Redwood High School, where she was an all-league performer in volleyball, basketball, and softball.
