Bryanna Mueller was hired as an assistant coach for the Idaho State women’s basketball program on July 21, 2016. Now in her third season, Mueller assists with guard development, basketball operations, student-athlete academic progress, recruiting and scouting and game preparation.

Mueller has been a part of two very successful Idaho State teams. In the 2017-18 season, the Bengals finished 21-11 and Mueller’s work with the guards was validated in several ways. Brooke Blair was named Second Team All-Big Sky while sophomore Estefania Ors gathered Top Reserve honors. After lifting the Bengals to the semifinals of the conference tournament, Saylair Grandon was named to the all-tournament team.

Mueller was present at the 2018 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four to accept the fifth annual NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Most Improved Field Goal Shooting Award. The Bengals shot 45.8 percent from the floor in 2017-18, up 7.66 percent from the previous year.

Mueller helped the 2016-17 Bengals post the program’s highest win total since the 2011-12 championship season with a 19-14 record. Sophomore guard Saylair Grandon was named Third Team All-Big Sky, freshman guard Estefania Ors was named Freshman of the Year and Idaho State advanced to the championship game of conference tournament for the second-consecutive year.

In her first season overseeing student-athlete academic progress, ISU women’s basketball set a program record with eight student-athletes earning Big Sky All-Academic honors; four were freshmen attending their first year of college. The following year, Idaho State landed five members on the all-academic team.

Mueller arrived at Idaho State after working as a graduate assistant for the Arizona State women’s basketball program under Head Coach Charli Turner Thorne. During her time with the Sun Devils, Mueller acted as video coordinator and also assisted with basketball operations, scouting reports and summer camps. In addition, Mueller was in charge of organizing and scheduling scout team players and student managers.

Prior to her time with Arizona State, Mueller played basketball at Drake for two seasons. Before becoming a member of the squad, Mueller was the Bulldogs student manager where she assisted the director of operations with all aspects of team travel in addition to operating Drake’s game film software, SportsCode Gamebreaker.

Mueller transferred to Drake after completing two full basketball seasons at the United States Air Force Academy, one with the Air Force Academy Prep school and one with the Academy, in Colorado Springs, Colo. During her time at the Academy, Mueller acted as Bravo Squadron First Sergeant where she led and supervised 85 cadet candidates.
