Holly Robertson enters her third season as an assistant basketball coach at Idaho State.  Most recently she helped the Bengals to a three-way second place tie in the Big Sky regular season with a 10-6 record during the 2009-10 season.  She also helped Idaho State make its 12th Big Sky championship appearance.  

During the 2008-09 season, Robertson helped the Bengals finish fourth in the Big Sky regular season and nearly upset Montana in the Big Sky semifinal tournament game.

Robertson came to Idaho State after a professional basketball career in Europe. She last competed for the DBBL ChemCats, a Division I program, in Chemnitz, Germany as a post. Previously, Robertson played two years for the Terra Sarda Mercede Basket, also a Division I program, in Alghero, Italy. At the pro level Robertson gained knowledge of sport conditioning, film breakdown, weight training, team building, game strategy and preparation. Her wealth of experience playing elite level basketball is a positive force on the Bengal squad.

In addition to her professional career, Robertson competed as a four year letter winner at Brown University as well as a year on the Brown women’s water polo team. While at Brown, Robertson was named Rhode Island Women’s Basketball Player of the Year in 2005 and was nominated as a candidate for the Senior Commencement Orator. In the 2003-04 season, Robertson was named to the Second Team All-Ivy League and in 2004-05 she was named to the First Team All-Ivy League.

In the summer of 2003 and 2005 Robertson played for the Canadian National Women’s Basketball Team and participated in the World University Games competing in Daegu, Korea and Izmir, Turkey.

Robertson’s duties include post player development, organizing film exchange, scouting and recruiting as well as additional duties.

A native of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, Robertson earned a degree in human biology, with a focus in human health and disease from Brown University in 2005.  She is also trilingual and is fluent in reading, speaking and writing in English, French and Italian.
