Travis Brewster enters his second year on the Idaho State women's basketball coaching staff. Brewster, a two-time Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year, comes to Pocatello after serving eight years as the head women's basketball coach at the University of North Dakota. UND saw outstanding success under Brewster's direction including over 100 victories, four consecutive postseasons (2014-17), two Big Sky Championships, and an NCAA tournament appearance.Â
In the 2020-21 Season, Brewster assisted in Idaho State winning both the Big Sky Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship. Brewster coached two post-season All-Conference honorees as well as three All-Tournament players including the 2021 Big Sky Tournament MVP Estefania Ors.
 In second year as head coach at North Dakota, Brewster successfully earned an NCAA Tournament appearance (2014), two Big Sky titles (2014, 2017), a pair of WBI appearances (2015, 2016) and a WNIT berth (2017)Â
At North Dakota he mentored All-American Madi Buck, the 2014 Big Sky Conference Player of the Year. Buck was also an all-region selection and Honorable mention All-American.Â
Had at least one All-conference First Team player six straight seasons (5 Big Sky, 1 Summit)
UND players racked up 15 All-conference honors in his head coaching tenure.
At UND Brewster coached Lexi Klabo who was a Cheryl Miller Award finalistÂ
Brewster had a strong focus on academics at UND as he coached 65 Conference Academic Honor Roll honorees
Coached 17 (8 as head coach, 9 as assistant) of UND's 36 1,000-point scorers in the program's history and mentored players that have gone on to professional careers overseas
Prior to being named head coach at UND, Brewster spent nine years with the program as an assistant coach. His career as a Fighting Hawk began in 2001 as a graduate assistant for the men's basketball team before making the move to women's basketball in 2002.
As a player at the collegiate level, Brewster played two seasons at Iowa Lakes Community College ('90, '91), before moving on to Division I Charleston Southern ('92, '93). At ILCC, Brewster played on teams that went 49-12; at CSU, he was a two-time defensive MVP and team captain in 1993.
