Greta Carlson

Greta Carlson was hired as an assistant coach for the women’s golf program in 2017. She and Head Coach Dallen Atkins have taken the program to new heights.

Each year players have recorded record scores the team has finished with some of the best scores in program history.

During Carlson’s time on the coaching staff, the team has had the fifth and sixth best scores for a round in program history with a 307 and 308 at the Rose City Collegiate in 2019 and 2017.

The Bengals also have the third, sixth and seventh best tournament scores in school history with a 949 at the Red Rocks Invitational in 2019, a 957 at the Rose City Collegiate in 2019 and a 958 at the Big Sky Championships in 2019.

The Bengals have four of the top 10 scores for a round since 2017 as Tya Seth’s 71 at the Big Sky Championships ties for first and three players have recorded a 73, good for the 10th best score in a round.

Under Atkins and Carlson five of the top 10 tourney scores have been recorded under. Seth’s 227 at the 2019 Big Sky Championships ranks second while Seth’s 228 in 2019 at the Red Rocks Invitational and Kylie Martens 228 at the Rose City Collegiate is tied for fourth.

Lexi Wilson’s 232 in 2019 at the Rose City Collegiate and Abby Kadrmas’ 232 at the Red Rocks in 2019 tie for the 10th best tournament score in program history.

Carlson also works as an accountant for Holt Arena and prior to her time as a golf coach she worked with the Bengal Athletic Booster Club.

Carlson has an extensive career in banking and accounting, as she has worked for Wells Fargo, Northwest Mortgage and The J.M. Smucker Co.

During this time Carlson kept her feet in the game of golf, attending PGA/USGA Rules of Golf Seminars and she has volunteered and worked with the Idaho Junior Golf Association and the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour as a Marshall and Tournament Facilitator.

She has won the Juniper Hills Country Club championship twice.

Carlson has three children who are all involved golf, while the oldest is a Class A PGA professional.

She graduated with honors from Drake with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
