Hideki Nakada begins his fourth season with Idaho State. Nakada helped the Bengals to a Big Sky regular season championship and a tournament title in 2006, earning the team a place at the NCAA College Cup.
Nakada oversees the goalkeepers and handles the coordination, scouting, travel, strength and conditioning and day-to-day aspects of the team.
One of Nakada's keepers, Lyndsay Gensler, received Big Sky All-Conference honors in 2006 and was named the Big Sky Conference Tournament MVP after helping the Bengals claim the tournament title over Sacramento State, 4-3 on penalty kicks.
Another one of Nakada's keepers was Maren Eves who recorded the most saves in the Big Sky Conference and the second best goals against average for the 2007 season. Eves was also awarded Honorable Mention in Big Sky Conference. Nakada's keeper Bailey Williams was awarded Honorable Mention in the Big Sky for the 2008 season.
Prior to Idaho State, Nakada served as an assistant coach for the George Washington High School soccer team in San Francisco. He was an All-Coast Conference goalkeeper at San Diego Mesa Junior College, where he recorded the lowest goals allowed average in league history.
Nakada played two years at the University of San Francisco. He also spent time playing professionally in Japan with Omiya Ardija. Nakada graduated from the University of San Francisco in 2005 with a degree in sociology.
