Lindsay Massengale enters her fourth season with the Bengals. Massengale previously served as one of Idaho State's assistant coaches until she returned to the professional ranks when she joined the FC Gold Pride women's professional soccer team for the 2009 season. Massengale will return to Idaho State to help the Bengals for their 2009 season at the conclusion of her own.
In just her first season with the team, Massengale helped the Bengals to a Big Sky regular season championship and a tournament title in 2006, earning the team a place at the NCAA College Cup.
Prior to ISU, Massengale spent two years as the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of San Francisco. Prior to that position, Massengale spent two years working with the women's soccer program at USF, developing and implementing strength programs, as well as assisting with injury rehabilitation and off-season conditioning programs.
Previously, Massengale worked as a personal trainer at Mike Boyle's Strength and Conditioning in Winchester, Massachusetts. She has served as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes from the collegiate ranks, as well as athletes from the NHL, WUSA, MLB, NFL, and the Women's Olympic hockey team.
Massengale is a graduate of Clemson University, where she was a four-year starter for the women's soccer team, graduating in 1999. She was named All-ACC in 1998. Massengale's first professional soccer experience was with the WUSA's Boston Breakers before the league ended in 2003.
