Sion is currently obtaining a Master's degree in Athletic Administration at Idaho State. Sion graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor's Degree in Management with certificates in Psychology and Finance.

As an athlete at ISU Sion is the Idaho State University Outdoor Shot Put record holder at 60-2, he holds the top two outdoor shot put marks in ISU history and six of the top 10 marks. He was an All-Conference selection in the Big Sky (All-Big Sky). Sion is the Georgia Tech Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put record holder at 59 and 59-5, respectively. Sion has also received All-Conference in the ACC (All-ACC) four times. He is a two time NCAA National Championship qualifier placing 22nd (2003) and 23rd (2006) in the country. Sion is also the Idaho High School State shot put record holder at 64-3.

Sion is a native of Pocatello, Idaho where he attended Highland High School. His Brother is a thrower at Idaho State and his Father played football for Idaho State.
