COACH BLEVINS:
Arriving in Pocatello in January 2024, Coach Buddy Blevins brings offensive acumen with passing game concepts specifically akin to wide receiver play. His extensive resume has seen him work in rural settings, urban areas, private schools, state universities, Christian based schools, and most recently time at a Historic Black College and University all while elevating offenses at every stop as a play caller.
With Panhandle State in Oklahoma, Blevins help turn around a program that reached it’s first top 25 ranking in 31 years by directing an offense that ranked in the top 25 in both rushing and passing. His next foray was in the NAIA ranks in Illinois, directing Trinity International to set three single game schools records in passing yards, passing attempts, and passing completions. His offense set an NAIA single game passing record with 732 yards and ranked 3rd nationally in total passing yards.
While at Fort Valley State D2 in Georgia, he took the offense from last to first in virtually every offensive category: scoring offense, passing offense, total offense, and red zone offense. This helped FVSU to it’s first winning season in seven years while increasing points per game going from 131st to 15th in all of D2 football. Blevins then moved onto Central State in Ohio ascending to the role of Assistant Head Coach where his offense scored more than 30 points in five games, had three of the top four Wide Receivers in the conference, and increased the number of first downs, yards per game, and totaled 712 yards in one game. By 2023, the offense again led the way paving the way for a four-game win streak, the first time Central State had more than back-to-back wins in 27 years for the program, and included a victory over FCS Mississippi Valley.
Originally hailing from Wildwood in Missouri, Coach Blevins is no stranger to the Big Sky Conference with previous stints at Northern Colorado and Cal Davis. He graduated from Colorado Mesa in 2012 and is married to his wife Morgan. The couple are proud parents of Olivia.
