Brad Bugger began broadcasting for Idaho State University (ISU) Athletics in 1994. In addition to color commentating for men's and women's basketball, he has also done color commentary for ISU football in the past.  

Bugger came to Pocatello in 1979, working as a sports writer, reporter, and editor at the Idaho State Journal. Brad also broadcasted high school football and basketball for the local radio. In 1990 he accepted a position in the Public Affairs Office at the Idaho National Laboratory, where he worked in various capacities until he retired from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2020. 

Brad also served as a media columnist for Basketball Times, a national publication based in Detroit, for many years in the 1980s and 1990s. 

He earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Idaho State University. 

Bugger is originally from Collinsville, Illinois. He is now married to Janice Jean, an ISU graduate, an occupational therapist, and winner of the 2018 Professional Achievement Award from the ISU College of Arts and Letters. Between the two of them, they have five grown children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His other hobbies include golfing, writing for the Idaho State Journal, and traveling.

“I've spent two-thirds of my life in Pocatello, and following Idaho State Athletics. ISU and everything about it is in my blood.”
