POCATELLO, Idaho - The wait is finally over for the Idaho State football coaches as coach
Mike Kramer and his staff have received the National Letters of Intent and offers of Athletic Financial Aid Agreements for their first recruiting class as Bengal coaches.
With all the success this class has had on the football field, Kramer is even more excited about the success they have had in the classroom.
“This class academically is as solid of a class as I have ever signed,” he said. “I am proud of the staff and everybody involved who have helped assemble this class.”
Here is a closer look at each Bengal signee.
6:45 a.m.
Anthony Boyles Jr., WR, 6-2, 210, Los Angeles, Calif. (Washington)
Will be a junior for Idaho State … appeared for the Huskies against Nebraska … in 2009 he switched from wide receiver to cornerback and appeared in five games … redshirted in 2008 at Washington … Played in the Offensive-Defensive All-America Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., following his senior season in high school … was named the MVP of the West team after catching two passes for 77 yards and a touchdown … had 53 catches for 790 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior … led his team to an 8-2 record and a 4-1 mark in the Del Rey League in 2006 … Prepstar All-America selection … named the nation's No. 24 wide receiver and No. 2 wide receiver in California by SuperPrep … named to the CalHi Sports all-state first-team for medium sized schools … as a junior caught 23 passes for 467 yards and five touchdowns, earning all-region, all-league and all-CIF honors … ranked No. 12 recruit (all positions) in California and No. 6 “athlete” recruit in the country by Rivals ... ranked No. 18 wide receiver recruit in the nation and the No. 18 overall prospect in the state of California by Scout … prepped at Junipero Serra … was coached by Scott Altenberg in high school and Steve Sarkisian at Washington … parents are Rochell Turner-Boyles and

Kramer on Boyles: “Anthony has exceptional ability and talent. He has languished in the depth at Washington and we relish the opportunity to get him on the field. We expect him to become an integral part of our receiving corps immediately. He will graduate in May and attend ISU as a graduate student.”
7:25 a.m.
Colin Andrus, OL, 6-3, 235, Idaho Falls, Idaho (Idaho Falls HS)
Played on the offensive and defensive line at Idaho Falls High School … recorded 91 tackles, 13 for loss as a senior … started every game on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball for three years ... was coached by Chuck Johnson … parents are Angela and Reed Andrus.
Kramer on Andrus: “Colin is an athletic and rangy tackle. In two years there is no telling how much bigger and stronger he will be. He has proven great academics and leadership accomplishments. He will serve an LDS mission and enroll as a full-time student in 2014.”
7:51 a.m.
Levi Altringer, QB, 6-3, 215, Meridian, Idaho (Rocky Mountain HS)
As a senior was 154-for-225 for 2,473 yards and 29 touchdowns to only 10 interceptions, good for a 68.4 percent completion percentage rating … rushed for 400 yards … led his team to the 5A state semi-finals … was named to the 5A Southern Idaho Conference second-team … was coached by ISU alum Jason Warr … parents are Kristine and Andrew Altringer.
Kramer on Altringer: “Levi is rangy but solid and sturdy. We liked his release, ability to keep his eyes downfield, and leadership. He is accurate and precise. He is an excellent student and an all-around athlete.”
7:53 a.m.
Tyler Graves, DL, 6-4, 215, Fruitland, Idaho (Fruitland HS)
Was the 3A State Player of the Year as a defensive end … first-team all-state as a defensive end … named Snake River Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year … two-time all-conference on offense and defense … three-year letter winner in football, four year letter winner in baseball and two-year letter winner in basketball … first-team all-conference infielder … coached by Bruce Schlaich … parents are Melissa and Scott Graves.
Kramer on Graves: “Tyler is a long, rangy defensive end with good speed and determination. He was a very productive player on a very good team. He has the proven mindset of a champion.”
7:57 a.m.
Demetrious Allen, LB, 5-11, 210, Miami, Florida (Miami Northwestern HS)
Was a three-year starter at outside linebacker … in 2008 led his team to a 13-3 record and the 6A state runner-ups … participated in the North vs. South and the Private vs. Public All-Star games … second-team All-Dade County … as a junior recorded 107 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks and three forced fumbles … as a senior had 87 tackles, seven for loss, one sack and three forced fumbles … parents are Monique and
Demetrius Allen Sr. … was coached by Billy Rolle.
Kramer on Allen: “Demetrius is extremely tough and productive. We like his open-field tackling, speed, and finish. He chose us over several southeastern Division I schools. We expect him to contribute next season. He is above average academically and plays smart.”

:06 a.m.
Ben Heimuli, LB, 6-1, 245, Salt Lake City, Utah (Cottonwood HS)
Four-year letter winner in football … garnered first-team all-Region 2 honors as a senior … was second-team all-region as a junior and honorable mention all-region as a sophomore … had 80 tackles, 25 for loss, one interception returned for a touchdown, three forced fumbles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries as a senior … was coached by Josh Lyman … parents are Susana and Sam Mounga.
Kramer on Heimuli: “Ben was a very physical and effective leader on a good high school football team. He was among the top linebacker prospects in the west. He is prototypical middle linebacker. He will serve an LDS mission and enroll as a full-time student in 2014.”
8:32 a.m.
Kyle Jones, OL/DL, 6-4, 230, Caldwell, Idaho, (Vallivue HS)
Earned first-team all-state and all-conference honors … three-year letter winner in football and wrestling and two years in track and field … ranked No. 2 in the state in wrestling in the 215 pound division … had 96 tackles and 11 sacks as a senior … the 11 sacks led the conference … coached by ISU alum, Lane Coffin … parents are Shelley and Alan Jones.
Kramer on Jones: “Kyle is a long framed lineman with the ability to be great on either side of the ball. He is athletic and determined. He will serve an LDS mission and enroll as a full-time student in 2014.”
8:45 a.m.
Ed Pritchett, DB, 6-0, 185, Columbus, Georgia (Carver HS)
Was a three-year starter and only lost five games in his high school career … led team to the 3A state title in 2007 … had 12 interceptions, 120 tackles, four sacks, 16 pass breakups and five forced fumbles … received the Heart of the Tiger Award in 2008 and 2009 … earned first-team Bi-City … coached by Dell McGee … parents are Sheeka and Edward Pritchett.
Kramer on Pritchett: “Ed was a part of one of the nation's top high school programs. He has played with, and against, some of the great players in the country and more than held his own. He is a solid tackler and has a good head for the game.”
9:05 a.m.
Brad Kragthorpe, QB, 5-11, 175, Tulsa, Okla. (Holland Hall HS)
As a senior threw for 1,738 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 126-for-199 passes, good for a 63 percent completion rate … as a junior led his team to a 10-5 record while throwing for 2,029 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions … was 152-for-211 yards, good for a 72 percent completion rate … had 425 yards rushing and four touchdowns as a senior and team lost in the state finals … coached by Tag Gross … parents are Cynthia and Steve Kragthorpe.
Kramer on Kragthorpe: “Brad is the son of an outstanding college football coach and member of our most-revered Bengal Family. Brad is quick, decisive, and accurate with his throws. He is an excellent student and proven leader.”
The following three players have already joined the program and are enrolled in school.
Jarrod Daniels, WR, 5-11, 200, Manteca, Calif. (Modesto College)
Had 108 carries for 560 yards and three touchdowns in eight games at Modesto College in 2010 … averaged 5.2 yards per carry and led team to an 8-3 record … as a senior in high school at Sierra HS he had 1,813 yards on 235 carries and 32 touchdowns … averaged 7.72 yards per carry and helped team to a 10-2 record … earned second-team all-state honors in 2009 and was named the 2009 Valley Oak League MVP … was coached by Sam Young … parents are Teresa and Rodney Daniels.
Kramer on Daniels: “Jarrod is an excellent all-around football player who can play both wide receiver and running back. We plan to use him as a wide receiver with the ability to move back to running back if we need. He is an excellent student.”
Kevin Yost, QB, 6-1, 200, Peoria, Ariz. (Glendale College)
In two years at Glendale he threw for 3,517 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions … completed 261-for-475 passes, good for a 55 percent completion percentage … as a sophomore threw for 2,500 yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions … completed 169-for-301 passes, a 56 percent completion percentage … was second-team all-WSFL in 2010 as a quarterback while guiding the team to an 8-3 record … was a three-year starter at Mountain Ridge High School where he threw for 5,500 yards and 50 touchdowns … was the named the 5A all-state quarterback in 2008 … had 700 yards rushing in high school … coached by Mickey Bell … parents are Shirley and Tom Yost.
Kramer on Yost: “Kevin played in a very similar offense to what we want to run. He was coached in junior college by JD Sollars who I worked with at Eastern Washington. I know he has the tools and playing experience to become a great ISU QB.”
Austin Graves, DL, 6-4, 235, Kennewick, Wash. (Washington State)
Prepped at Southridge High School … was named the Columbia Basin League Defensive MVP … earned first-team all-state honors … was named to the all-class all-state team by the Seattle Times and earned 4A first-team all-state honors by the Seattle Times … first-team all-league as a defensive end and second-team all-league as a tight end … as a senior in high school recorded 40 tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 17 sacks and 14 tackles for losses … as a junior had 47 tackles, 25 assisted, 12 sacks and 18 tackles for loss … was coached by Andy Troxel … parents are Malia Graves and Chad Graves.
Kramer on Graves: “Austin is a long rangy defensive end with exceptional hand quickness and finish. He was very productive in a very good league in high school. He is an excellent student and will give us great ability for a long run at defensive end.”
10:15 a.m.
Derek Berry, LB, 6-5, 215, University Place, Wash. (Curtis HS)
Named to the All-SPSL South first-team as a linebacker and second-team all-SPSL as a tight end … had 81.5 tackles, seven sacks, two interceptions, 15 catches for 300 yards and three touchdowns … was coached by Clay Angle … father is Henry Berry.
Kramer on Berry: “Derek was in summer camp with me at WSU. He played linebacker on our camp team and was an all-star. He has great size, wingspan, and speed. We expect Derek to contribute next season.”
10:49 a.m.
Justin Arias, QB, 6-1, 210, Agoura Hills, Calif. (College of the Canyons)
Was the 2010 NNFC first-team quarterback … was 183-for-341 for 1,973 yards, 20 touchdowns and only eight interceptions, good for a 54 percent completion percentage … led team to a 6-5 record … prepped at Agoura High School where as a senior was 165-for-280, for a 59 percent completion percentage, 2,250 yards, 19 touchdowns and only one interception … rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns as a senior … was coached by Garrett Tujague … parents are Teresa and Steve Arias.
Kramer on Arias: “Justin is a very confident and accomplished winner with a good arm, vision, and game-winning ability. We think he can compete to start. He is a great student and leader.”
11:01 a.m.
Jim Bagley, OL, 6-4, 265, Meridian, Idaho (Rocky Mountain HS)
Was a three-year letterman in football and basketball … earned first-team all-state honors … starts as a center on his high school basketball team … earned first-team all-conference in football and second team as a junior … coached by ISU alum, Jason Warr … parents are Libby and John Bagley
Kramer on Bagley: “Jim was in summer camp at WSU and played well every day against top flight competition. We like him as a tackle but he has the ability to play all five spots.”
1:15 p.m.
Donovan Henley, DB, 5-10, 175, Chandler, Ariz. (Glendale College)
In 2010 as a sophomore totaled 48 tackles, 32 unassisted and 16 assisted tackles … three interceptions and 10 pass break ups along with one touchdown … as a freshman at Glendale had 34 tackles, 18 unassisted tackles, 16 assisted tackles, two interceptions and nine pass break ups … prepped at Marcos De Niza HS in Tempe, Ariz., … was a two-year starter and had 52 tackles and seven interceptions a senior while being named first-team all-region … as a junior had 40 tackles, six interceptions and earned second-team all-region accolades … coached by Mickey Bell … father is Howard Henley.
Kramer on Henley: "Donovan is a stopper. He was a two-year starter in junior college on a very comparative defense. He showed great on and off ball skills. He is an excellent tackler and has cover ability. We expect him to challenge for a starting cornerback position in August.”
3 p.m.
Derek Graves, WR, 6-0, 185, Stockton, Calif. (San Jaoquin Delta College)
Appeared in nine games where he caught 45 passes for 599 yard, seven touchdowns with a long of 61 yards … averaged 66.56 yards a game in 2010 with 13.31 yards a catch … helped his team to a 7-3 record in the North Division of the Valley Conference … team tied for first in league at 4-1 … was third in the conference in receptions at 5.0, fourth in receiving yards and eighth in the conference in scoring … garnered 2010 Valley Football all-conference honors … coached by Gary Barlow … parents are Lori Taylor,
Derek Graves Sr. and grandmother is Carolyn Hopkins … prepped at Chavez High School.
Kramer on Graves: “Derek was a very early offer in this recruiting class. He has great range and exceptional ball carry skills. He is tough and consistent. He will battle for a starting position immediately.”
Cameron Richmond, WR, 6-1, 180, Fairfield, Calif. (Santa Rosa College)
As a sophomore in 2010 he was 10th in the state of California in receptions per game at 10.16 and 34th in the state in receiving yards at 70.1 a game, which also ranked fifth in the conference … had 69 receptions, 701 yards and five touchdowns … earned first-team all-Nor Cal and was a team captain … as a freshman in 2009 he had 39 receptions for 646 yards, good for an av erage of 16.6 yards a catch … played in 10 games, scored six touchdowns and picked off one pass on defense … had 199 yards receiving in a game vs. Modesto College on Sept. 19, 2009 … was fifth in the conference in receiving yards at 64.6 yards a catch … prepped at Rodriguez High School … coached at Santa Rosa by ISU alum Keith Simons … parents are Doris and Bruce Richmond.
Kramer on Richmond: “Cameron has been a most productive receiver for former-Bengal Keith Simons at Santa Rosa. In 2009, he started on the outside and in 2010 he moved to the inside. He is our most productive recruit at receiver with over 120 catches in the last two seasons. We expect Cam to battle for a starting spot immediately.”
