Garcia Named Big Sky Conference Special Teams Player of the Week

Brendon Garcia drilled his third 50-yard field goal of his career on Saturday vs. Western State.
POCATELLO, Idaho- For the second straight week Idaho State senior kicker Brendon Garcia is the Root Sports Big Sky Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. Garcia drilled field goals of 30, 47 and 50 yards in the Bengals 29-3 win over Western State.

The 50-yard field goal tied his career-high as he connected on two 50-yard field goals as a freshman in 2010. The 50-yard field goal is also tied for the longest made kick this season amongst FCS schools.  Garcia also made three extra points to finish with 12 points in last Saturday's win. Garcia is 7-7 on field-goal attempts this season. He leads the nation in field goals per game at 3.5.

Idaho State (2-0) plays at No. 17/20 Washington on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. (MST). The game will be seen live on the Pac-12 Network and Jerry Miller and Tim Lewis will call the action live on Rock 102.5 and 930 CBS Sports Radio. The Bengals play at UC Davis on Sept. 28 before returning home to host North Dakota at 2 p.m. (MST) on Oct. 5.
