POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football program has announced its 2017 football schedule. The team will play five home games starting Thursday, August 31 vs. Western Oregon. The four Big Sky Conference home games are against Cal Poly, Montana, Portland State and UC Davis.
The Bengals play two straight Thursday night games to open the season. Following the August 31 contest, ISU plays at Utah State on Thursday, Sept. 7 and then plays at Nevada on Sept. 16.
This will be the first meeting with Western Oregon and Utah State leads the series with ISU 11-2. The last Bengal win over the Aggies was 27-24 on Nov. 18, 2000. This was also the last time ISU has beaten an FBS team. Utah State beat ISU 40-20 in Logan in 2014. Nevada is a former member of the Big Sky Conference from 1979-91. During this time the Wolf Pack tallied a 68-28 mark in conference play.
Conference play begins Sept. 23 at Northern Colorado. Idaho State then plays two straight home games, Sept. 30 vs. Cal Poly and Oct. 7 vs. Montana. Homecoming will be Sept. 30 vs. Cal Poly.
ISU plays at Sacramento State on Oct. 14 and then hosts Portland State on Oct. 21. The season finishes with an Oct. 28 contest at Montana State and the final home game is Nov. 4 vs. UC Davis. After a bye week on Nov. 11 Idaho State closes out the season at Weber State on Nov. 18.
Kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
