Bengals Take 18th Place At Red Rocks Invitational

Sedona, AZ--- The ISU women's golf team opened the spring season with an 18th-place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, AZ.

The Bengals finished the two-round event with a team score of 714 shots, 10 strokes back of Utah Valley. ISU entered the day a shot up on the Wolverines.

Junior Kylie Smith was the Bengals' top individual performer, finishing in a tie for 73rd place by following a first-round 86 with an 87 on Sunday. Her 173 total was four shots better than sophomore Sadie Venn, who shot an 88-89 for a total of 177.

Alex Sandberg, who played as an individual in the field, posted the Bengals' third-best score, following her first round of 92 with an 88 on Sunday to finish with a 178, tying for 86th place. Senior Ally Hall and junior Katie Phillips tied for 95th at 183, and freshman Amanda Hendricks took 101st with a 191.

The Bengals are off for most of March. Idaho State's next event is the Dixie Classic, scheduled for March 24-25 in St. George, Utah.
