Big Sky Conference Golf Championships: Day 1 Results 
Chandler, AZ --- Sadie Venn led three Bengals in the top 30, as the Idaho State golf team finished the first day of the Big Sky Conference Golf Championships in a tie for sixth place at Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz.
The team shot a 36-over score of 324 to tie with Northern Colorado for sixth place, seven strokes ahead of Montana State and 11 clear of Eastern Washington. Northern Arizona led by 10 strokes, shooting a 298.
Venn shot a seven-over 79 in the first round, and was tied with eight other players for 17th place. Katie Phillips' 80 put her in a tie for 26th place with Weber State's Kelsey Adams. Kylie Smith, the Bengals' leader in six of ISU's seven tournaments this season, was tied for 28th place at 81 strokes.
Amanda Hendricks shot her lowest round of the season, carding an 84 to tie for 33rd, and Ally Hall's 88 placed her in 42nd place.
The second round tees off at 6:27 a.m. on Tuesday, with the third round set for 6:27 a.m. on Wednesday.
