Idaho State In Ninth After Second Round At Big Sky Championships

Chandler, AZ --- The Idaho State golf team sits in ninth place after the first two rounds of the Big Sky Conference Golf Championships, held at Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz.

The Bengals were tied for sixth place after Monday's first round, but struggled to a score of 341 in the second round and now sit 10 shots behind Eastern Washington with a total score of 665, 89 strokes over par. Northern Arizona, which led by 10 strokes after the first day, increased its lead to 13 shots over second place Sacramento State and Weber State.

Katie Phillips followed a first-round 80 with an 82 in the second round and is tied for 28th with a total score of 162. Kylie Smith is just three shots back in 32nd place with 165 shots.

Sadie Venn, who opened with a 79 on Monday, shot an 89 Tuesday and sits in 38th place. Ally Hall shaved two shots off her Monday score during Tuesday's round and is tied for 41st, and Amanda Hendricks sits in 43rd with a 177.

The Bengals tee off for the third and final round of the tournament at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday.
