EDINBURG, Texas - The Idaho State women's volleyball team made a dramatic comeback to overtake Oral Roberts 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 27-29, 25-14, 15-7) in the team's second game of the day at the UTPA Fall Invitationl Friday afternoon. ISU won the first set but lost the next two before winning the fourth and fifth set to decide the match. Idaho State improves to 2-0 on the season after winning a match earlier Friday against Texas Pan-American while Oral Roberts fell to 1-1. The game was ISU's second of three that the team will play at the UTPA Fall Invitational.

Junior Jaclyn Hone and freshman Lori Mendenhall notched double-doubles in the competition. Hone recorded 12 kills and 13 digs while Mendenhall had 51 assists with 10 digs. Four Bengals recorded double digits in kills and were led by seniors Haylee Thompson-Brock and Britta Bartschi-Rhodehouse who both recorded a game-high 14 apiece. Senior Sarah Carson also chipped in with 13 kills.

Defensively, the Bengals held Oral Roberts to a .175 hitting percentage and recorded eight team blocks. Carson led ISU with one solo block and four assisted. Senior Jenna Proost led the team with 18 digs.

Serena Cate was the only Oral Roberts' player to record a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs. Elizabeth McVicker chipped in 10 kills while post a .409 attack percentage. Cassidy Holmes recorded a game-high 22 digs for Oral Roberts.

Idaho State will resume action Saturday, Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. against Lamar in the final match of the tournament. The Bengals look to repeat last season's triumphs as they captured a tournament title at Wyoming to start the 2009 season.
