POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State (11-9, 5-4 BSC) was overcome in three sets by Eastern Washington (9-11, 5-4 BSC) at Reed Gym Friday night to start the second half of conference play.

Breanne Van Every had a team-high 10 kills and notched six digs. Sophomore setter Lori Mendenhall was one dig shy of a double-double with 31 assists. She also had three block assists.
As a team the Bengals hit a .229 attack percentage with two freshmen hitting above a .400 attack percentage. Outside hitter Alydia Fields notched a match-high .412 attack percentage from players recording more than three kills. Fields had nine kills from 17 attempts and while making two errors. Middle blocker Whitney Bartschi recorded a .400 attack percentage with five kills from 10 attempts with just one error.
The Bengals out-blocked Eastern Washington 4-to-3, but allowed the Eagles to hit a .279 attack percentage. The Eagles' Cora Kellerman recorded a match-high in kills with 13, the only other player to post a double-figure in kills was Van Every. Eastern Washington's libero Lindsey Petroni had a match-high 14 digs.
Idaho State came out flat in their match falling 25-21, 25-20, 25-21. However, the Bengals recall a five set loss to Montana State that was 0-15 on the year, then turned around for a three-game winning streak overcoming Montana in four, Northern Arizona in four and Northern Colorado in five. ISU's win over the 'Jacks was over a team that was 12-0 to start the season then turned around and defeated the Bears for the second time in school history, first time since 1982.
"We've seen the lows of lows and the highs of highs and after tonight the only way we can go is up so I think we are going to come out tomorrow and show people what we can do," said Mendenhall.
Idaho State hosts Portland State on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.at Reed Gym.
