POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns to Big Sky Conference play at Montana State on Saturday, Oct. 29. Kickoff is at 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on 930 KSEI and seen on television locally in Bozeman.
Montana State leads the overall series 43-30-3. The Bengals lost a hard-fought 23-20 overtime contest to Montana State, last year's Big Sky Conference champions, at Holt Arena last year. The last time the Bengals defeated MSU was a 23-17 victory on Oct. 11, 2003. That game was played in Bozeman.
Recapping the 2010 Meeting with Montana State
With the score tied at 17, Montana State kicker Jason Cunningham missed a 41-yard field goal as time expired in regulation to send the game into overtime.
Brendon Garcia then connected on a 27-yard field goal on the Bengal's first possession of the overtime period but on the first play from scrimmage quarterback Denarius McGhee scored on a 25-yard run to give No. 13 MSU the victory.
NCAA Statistical Leaders
David Harrington leads the nation in punting with an average of 48.60 yards a kick.
Rodrick Rumble leads the nation in receptions per game at 10.62 and he is third in receiving yards at 134.88.
Kevin Yost is 12th in the FCS in total offense at 281.25 yards a game. As a team, the Bengals are fifth in passing at 323.50 and seventh in net punting at 38.59.
STORMS CLOSING IN ON SCHOOL TACKLE RECORD
A.J. Storms has 383 career tackles and now needs only 27 tackles to become the Idaho State all-time leader in tackles, passing Mike Calley's 414 he had from 1984-87. The Big Sky Conference's all-time leading tackler is Kane Ioane from Montana State (2000-03), who had 471. The NCAA did not officially recognize tackles in the record books until 2000. Storms had four straight weeks of double-digit tackle games before the BYU game, including 12 at Weber State last week and 17 vs. Montana on Oct. 8.
Rodrick Rumbles
Rodrick Rumble continues to inch closer to setting the Idaho State single-season receiving records. He has 10 receptions or more in seven of the eight games this year. His 1,079 receiving yards for the season ranks him No. 3 on the Idaho State single-season Top 10 list for receiving yards, passing Tom Hoffman's 1,072 yards receiving in 1971. Rumble needs eight receiving yards to move into second place and pass Ed Bell's 1,086 yards in 1968. Bell is also the single-season leader for receiving yards as he has 1,522 in 1969. His 85 receptions moves him into second place on the Top 10 single-season list for receptions. Ed Bell holds the record with 96 in 1969.
Reyes Makes Most of moment
C.J. Reyes first career-punt was a 56-yarder that pinned the BYU offense down at the 1-yard line with 2:35 to play in the second quarter. Reyes had four punts for an average of 41.5 yards a kick against the Cougars after
David Harrington went down with an injury.
