Bengals Drop 2 on Final Day of ASU Tournament

ISU next plays in a tournament at Sacramento State FEb. 25-27.

POCATELLO, Idaho- After battling through rain delays, the Idaho State softball team completed play at the Arizona State Littlewood Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 10-0 loss in five innings to Illinois State and a 16-1 loss to No. 9 Arizona State in five.

In the loss to Illinois State Jessica Baca managed the only hit for the Bengals while Amanda Fitzsimmons took the loss by allowing 10 hits and all 10 runs in the complete game while striking out five.

Against the national ranked Sun Devils, ISU managed three hits but ASU had an 11 run second inning to put the game out of reach. Amanda Fitzsimmons and Brittny Olsin each had a double with Olsin recording an RBI that scored Fitzsimmons in the first inning. Ashley Moeller also had one hit.

Idaho State returns to the field Feb. 25-27 in a tournament at Sacramento State where it will play fellow Pacific Coast Conference members, Saint Mary's, Sacramento State and Cal State Bakersfield.
