POCATELLO, Idaho -
A trip to the NFC championship seemed out of reach for former Idaho State Bengal Evan Dietrich-Smith now of the Green Bay Packers. However, the Packers exceeded expectations by making it to the 45th Super Bowl and wining the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Dietrich-Smith is the fourth straight ISU player to advance to the Super Bowl. The first Bengal to progress was Matt Guittierez of the New England Patriots in 2008.

Pago Togafau became the second Bengal to be a part of a Super Bowl with the Arizona Cardinals in 2009. Jeff Charleston was the first Bengal to win the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints defeating the Indianapolis Colts. This was ironically Charleston's former team before he was traded to the Saints.
Dietrich-Smith never believed in his wildest dreams he would make it this far.

“I've never been to a Super Bowl, only watched it on TV so to potentially be there I think it would be tight because not a whole lot of guys get to experience it in their career,” said Dietrich-Smith.
