LAS VEGAS – Laura Porras captured Idaho State's lone victory against Seattle with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Gabriella Weissman at the No. 3 position. Idaho State fell 6-1 to the Redhawks on Thursday afternoon at the Bally's Hotel in Las Vegas.
Porras, a junior transfer, was the last match off the court even though she easily dispensed of Weissman to improve her singles record to 5-2 for the season.
The Bengals began the match down 0-1 as Seattle swept the singles play.
Katharina Marsela was the first singles match to be completed; she fell 6-3, 6-2 to Ariel Ohno at the No. 1 position.
Seattle's Katrina Schwab earned the deciding point for the Redhawks with a three set victory over ISU's
Rilee Moorhead. Moorhead fell 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot handing the Bengal her first lost in Las Vegas in her two years at Idaho State falling to 4-1 at the Bally's Hotel.
Seattle improved to 4-14 while the Bengals fell to 2-5 for the season. The Bengals continue their double header with a dual match against North Dakota at the Bally's Hotel. The match begins at 5 p.m.
