GREELEY, Colo. – The Bengal women's tennis team was swept 7-0 by Northern Colorado Saturday afternoon at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.
ISU fell in all three doubles contests to start the match down 0-1. Junior transfer
Katharina Marsela put up a fight but too late as the Bengal fell 6-0, 7-5 to Jennifer Whateley at the No. 1 spot.
Laura Porras was overcome 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot to Elizabeth Tapia.
Junior
Rilee Moorhead twice fought back from being down 3-4 to hold a 5-4 lead on serve but could not finish as she fell 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) to Adriana Nieto at the No. 2 spot.
Freshman
Zamira Vasquez opened with a 6-1 victory over Lezi Filliol before fallting 6-2 in the second set and 10-7 in the third set tiebreaker.
Northern Colorado improved to 7-13 overall and 3-5 in league action while the Bengals fell to 3-11 for the season and 0-7 in Big Sky action.
Due to scheduling conflicts Idaho State is cancelling its contest against Utah State on Tuesday, April 19 to travel to Portland State on Wednesday, April 20 to play its final match of the season. The Bengals begin the match at 9 a.m.
