BENGAL OVERVIEW

Idaho State (3-4) looks to bounce back from is four-game losing streak when the Bengals host New Mexico State (6-2) at Davis Field on Friday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. ISU owns a 2-1 home record at Davis Field this season and a 24-9-7 home record under Head Coach Allison Gibson.

ABOUT IDAHO STATE
The Bengals are on a four-game losing streak after opening the season 3-0. Amanda Ellsworth , a freshman forward, leads the Bengals in scoring with four goals. She is the only ISU player to have more than one goal. Seven different Bengals have each scored one goal this season: Rachel Strawn, Anna Pingree, Allyssa Kenney, Megan Stainbrook, Kiley Godfrey, Taylor Powell and Alex Hansen Ellsworth also leads ISU in shots with 17, holding a .235 shot percentage. Rachel Strawn, a junior forward, leads the Bengals with seven on goal shots after both of her shots at Utah State were on goal. Three Bengals have recorded a season-high two assists: Ashley Jones, Allyson Stainbrook and Rachel Strawn.

ABOUT NEW MEXICO STATE
New Mexico State is on a six-game winning streak after having opened the season with two straight shut-out losses at UTEP (2-0) and at Texas Tech (1-0). The Aggies are 4-0 at home and 1-2 on the road with their only victory coming over Jacksonville State in a 2-1 decision. New Mexico State is led in scoring by Jennae Cambra, Katie Smith and Mark Kate Koziol who have each scored three goals this season. New Mexico State junior defender Megan Hendler comes off her first WAC Defensive Player of the Week honor helping the Aggies earn shut-outs against Northern Colorado (1-0) and Arkansas Little Rock (3-0).

SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING WITH AGGIES
Idaho State leads the series 1-0 having defeated New Mexico State 2-1 in double-overtime in Las Cruses, N.M. in 2009. The contest between the Bengals and New Mexico State was the Aggie's inaugural competition. Idaho State out-shot the Aggies 25-13. ISU's Lauren Ryan scored the first goal for the Bengals at the 25:36 mark on a 15 yard shot from midfield assisted by Rachel Strawn. New Mexico State's Crystal Burns answered back with a similar shot at the 86:39 mark to send the contest in overtime. Ashley Jones scored on a diving header with 1:52 remaining in double overtime. The game-winner was assisted by Ryan. Jones and Annamarie Hofstetter posted a match-high five shots with all five for Jones on goal.

BENGALS LEAD BIG SKY STATS

Idaho State leads the Big Sky Conference in shots (111), points (4.71 ppg), assists (11), assists per game (1.57 apg) and yellow cards (12). The Bengals are tied for first with Montana and Portland state for total goals with 11. The Bengals average 1.57 goals per game for second best in the league behind Montana with 1.83 goals per game.

ELLSWORTH AND STRAWN IN THE BIG SKY STANDINGS
Amanda Ellsworth: Tied for 5th in shots (17), tied for 5th in shots per game (2.43 spg), 4th for points (8), 4th for points per game (1.14 ppg), tied for 2nd in goals (4) and goals per game (0.57 gpg).
Rachel Strawn: Tied for 8th in shots per game (16), 8th for shots per game (2.29), tied for 9th with points (4), tied for 2nd most assists (2) and tied for 6th with teammates Allyson Stainbrook and Ashley Jones in assists per game (0.29 apg).

STRAWN CONTRIBUTES TO SCORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR BENGALS
Junior forward Rachel Strawn recorded her second assist of the season and 11th of her career when she sent a cross to Kiley Godfrey 1:07 into the second period to give ISU its lone goal against NSCAA No. 7 West regionally ranked Utah State in ISU's 6-1 loss. Strawn's 11th career assist ties the Bengal for fifth best assist record at Idaho State. Strawn had two shots, both on goal, in her 58 minutes of play.

FRESHMAN STEP UP PLAY WITH LOSS OF TOP STARTERS
With four of Idaho State's starters temporarily sitting on the sidelines or seeing limited minutes due to injuries (Anna Pingree, Lia Margolis, Allyssa Kenney, Amanda Ellsworth), the Bengals saw freshman players step up and compete for the Bengals in a greater role. Freshman defender Taylor McBride had her first career start against Utah State where she played all 90 minutes for the Bengals. Freshman midfielder Madeline Gochnour also saw her first career start against the Aggies playing for 59 minutes.

GODFREY SCORES FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON

Sophomore Kiley Godfrey scored her first goal of the season and fourth of her career in ISU's 6-1 loss to NSCAA No. 7 West regionally ranked Utah State. Godfrey's goal was scored 1:07 into the second period off a cross from Rachel Strawn.

ISU HAS SCORED IN EVERY GAME BUT ONE
Idaho State has scored in six of its seven contests having only been shut-out by Boise State in Moscow, Idaho at the Governor's Cup. The Bengals average 1.57 goals per game and scored a season-high four goals against Northwest Nazarene at ISU's home opener.

BENGALS HOT AT DAVIS FIELD
Over the last two seasons the Bengals have posted a 10-4-2 home record (.688) Under Head Coach Allison Gibson the Bengals own a 24-9-7 (.6885) at Davis Field. The all-time home record at Davis Field is 59-25-14 (.673).
