OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced Tuesday that senior forward
Rachel Strawn has been selected Co-Offensive Big Sky Player of the Week. She shares the honor with Portland State's forward Daniela Solis.
Last weekend against Southern Utah, Strawn scored her 10
th goal of the season and is currently one goal way from tying the ISU all-time single season goal record and six away from the Big Sky record.
She scored her first goal of the contest in the 11
th minute to give ISU a 1-0 lead. SUU tied up the game 1-1 before Strawn hit her second goal of the game with just two seconds remaining in the contest to give ISU a 2-1 win.
Strawn is currently second in ISU's career records for points (47), goals (16), game-winning goals (9) and shots on goal (68). She is fifth in shots with 125. Strawn is also second in the ISU single-season records for goals with 10 and is third in points with 21.
This is Strawn's second Big Sky Player of the Week award this season. She received the honor earlier this season after her performances at the Holiday Inn Classic in Boise, Idaho.
Strawn has also been named Bengal Athlete of the Week and College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week as for her performance against Southern Utah.
Strawn and the rest of the Bengals face Big Sky rival Weber State Saturday, Oct. 6 at noon in Ogden, Utah.
