POCATELLO, Idaho  - Junior forward Cydney Horton scored her first double-double of the season as she led Idaho State with a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds against Air Force Saturday afternoon. Idaho State won the contest 83-51. The win is ISU's first of the season as the Bengals improve to 1-2 overall and Air Force falls to 0-3.

In addition to her double-double, Horton also had four blocks in 26 minutes of action. She shot 9-13 from the field and went 1-2 from the free throw line.

Three other ISU players scored in double digits Saturday. Senior forward Ashleigh Vella scored 12 points against the Falcons, bringing her career total to 991, just nine points away from 1,000. Vella also had three assists, two blocks and one steal.

Senior guard Kaela Oakes and junior guard Lindsey Reed also scored in double digits. Oakes scored a season-high 16 points with 11 coming in the first half alone. Reed posted 14 for the contest with 11 in the second half alone.

“It was really good to see certain people start to get it going,” ISU Head Coach Seton Sobolewski said. “Cydney Horton had a great game and Lindsey Reed had a great second half. Kaela was steady and Vella had 12 points in 25 minutes. She got into a little bit of foul trouble and that slowed her down a little bit.”

ISU had another solid defensive effort to go with a strong offensive showing. The Bengals held the Falcons to a 27.7 shooting percentage for the contest and converted 25 points off of Air Force turnovers. ISU out-rebounded the Falcons 43-36 and earned 18 second chance points with 19 offensive boards. The Bengals forced 20 turnovers and sophomore Blaire Brady led the squad with three steals in the contest.

“Our defense was really good but we need to do a better job with fouls and keeping people off the line,” Sobolewksi said. “It's a tough adjustment when you go from playing Big 12 teams where they let a lot go and there's a lot of banging around to coming back home where they call it a little bit tighter.”

Idaho State begins a three-game road stretch following the Air Force game. The Bengals travel to Boise, Idaho for a match-up against Boise State Tuesday, Nov. 20. After the Thanksgiving break, ISU faces two challenging opponents in South Dakota (Nov. 29) and Nebraska (Dec. 1) both on the road. ISU's contest with BSU tips off at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
