BOISE, Idaho – Idaho State men's tennis faced No. 45 Boise State Friday in Boise. The Bengals dropped the contest 7-0.
Senior
Dakota Pate and freshman Krzyzstof Stempien played Boise State's Sheldon and Reid to a close match decided by just two points at the No. 3 position. BSU won the match 8-6.
In singles play, Pate took his match at the No. 6 position to three sets. Pate lost the first set 6-3 to Reid but won the second set 6-4. Pate ultimately lost the third set 10-6.
Senior
Dan Buckingham also played in a close match today at the No. 4 spot. The Boise, Idaho native faced BSU's Sheldon. Buckingham won the first set after a tiebreaker, but lost the final two sets.
Idaho State takes on conference opponent Eastern Washington tomorrow in Cheney, Wash. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
