PROVO, Utah – Idaho State men's tennis faced No.49 Brigham Young Friday afternoon where the Bengals fell to the Cougars 7-0. Idaho State is now 1-3 on the season while BYU improves to 2-4.
In doubles play, senior
Dan Buckingham and junior
Nate Gross battled with BYU's Sargeant and Smith at the No. 2 spot, ultimately falling 8-5 in the contest.
BYU swept the singles action today. No. 43 Georgy Batrakov defeated
Charles Norman at the No. 1 spot and No. 67 Keaton Cullimore outscored Krzyzstof Stempien 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot.
“We played them better today than we have in the past,” ISU Head Coach
Bobby Goeltz said. “Ultimately what matters is how we play against Portland State Sunday but the thing we take from this today is to learn from it and play better tomorrow.”
Idaho State faces Utah Saturday in Salt Lake City at 5 p.m. before returning home on Sunday to host Portland State in the first conference match of the season.
