POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State has won five of its last seven games and returns to ICCU Court at Holt Arena on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 8 p.m. for a contest against Portland State. The game can be heard live on 930 KSEI with
Jerry Miller and
Brad Bugger calling the action. The Bengals are 6-5 in Big Sky Conference play while Portland State is 5-6. This is the final game of the year in Holt Arena as the Bengals will play their last two home games in Reed Gym. ISU is 4-4 at Holt Arena this year.
SERIES INFO VS. PORTLAND STATE
Portland State leads the overall series 26-15. The two teams split the season series last year, losing 79-72 in Pocatello and winning 84-79 in Portland. The Vikings beat ISU 80-68 in Portland this year.
SCOUTING PORTLAND STATE
Portland State is 11-12 and 5-6 in conference play. Charles Odum leads the Vikings in scoring at 18.6 points a game while Chehales Tapscott is scoring 13.8 points and averaging nine rebounds a game. Portland State is scoring 76.5 points a game and shooting .483 percent from the field.
BENGALS AT PACIFIC
Idaho State plays at Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 18, in the annual Bracketbuster game. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. mountain time and this will be the ninth meeting between the two schools. ISU leads the series 5-3 but the two teams have not played since Nov. 30, 1996, an 81-70 win in Pocatello.
MCGOWEN CLUTCH DOWN STRETCH
A key player in the Bengals four-game winning streak was senior
Kenny McGowen. The senior guard had a career-high 30 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the 3-point line in last Thursday's overtime win at Montana State. He has scored the game-winning baskets in the wins at Sacramento State and Montana State and hit the buzzer-beating 3-pointer at home vs. Weber State.

Melvin Morgan are averaging 37.5 points a game of the teams 65.1 points a game. In the 99-94 double overtime win over Northern Colorado the three combined for 70 of the Bengals 99 points.
