ISU Tennis Drops Match to Montana

Senior, Porras, claims the Bengals only victory of the day.

Senior Laura Porras captured the only ISU win of the day against Montana.

POCATELLO, Idaho
- The Idaho State women's tennis team fell to a very tough Montana team on Sunday afternoon. The Bengals were outscored 6-1 with senior Laura Porras capturing the only ISU win of the day.

Montana swept Idaho State in doubles play. Katharina Marsela and Laura Porras were defeated 8-0 at the No. 1 position by Montana's Davidson and Pelchat while Rilee Moorhead and Marian Tangarife lost at the No. 2 spot to U of M's Mackey and Gbadamosi 8-5. Ryan and Vasquez lost 8-1 against Carter and Gibson.

In singles play, Porras defeated Pelchat at the No. 2 position 6-4, 6-2 while Marsela lost at the No. 1 position to Davidson in a three set battle, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0. Moorhead was defeated by Mackey at the No. 3 position 6-4, 6-2 while Tangarife fell to Carter at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 5-7, 6-1. Clarke and Ryan lost at the  No. 5 and 6 spots respectively.

The Bengals take a week off before heading to Ogden, Utah to compete against Weber State on Wednesday, March 21. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
