LAS VEGAS, Nev. – It was a successful day for the ISU tennis teams Saturday as the men defeated Seattle 4-3 and the women split matches with Seattle (1-6) and North Dakota (5-2).
On the men's side, Idaho State took the doubles point as junior
Nate Gross and senior
Dan Buckingham won the No. 2 spot 8-6 and freshman Krzyszstof Stempien and senior
Dakota Pate won the No. 3 doubles 8-4.
Gross and Pate went on to win their singles matches. Gross won the No. 2 spot to give ISU its second point, defeating Simon Moske 6-4, 6-4. ISU clinched its third point with a win from Pate as he won his match 7-6, 6-1. Freshman
Andres Coello decided the match with a win at the No. 6 spot, winning in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 decision.
In a double-header situation, the ISU women defeated North Dakota 5-2 today and fell 6-1 to Seattle.
The Idaho State women face Drake University tomorrow at 2 p.m. while the men take on Western New Mexico at 8 a.m.
