OGDEN, Utah – Freshman
Marian Tangarife finished the 2012 season with a win against Weber State's Nittaya Phonharath. Tangarife won the No. 3 singles match 6-4, 6-2 bringing her final season record to 6-11. The win also marks her first victory at the No. 3 spot.
Tangarife also tallied a doubles win with teammate senior
Rilee Moorhead. The duo defeated Phonharath and Michelle Warwick 8-2. Tangarife's and Moorhead's doubles records for the season are now 7-10. The record leads the Bengals for the season.
Idaho State dropped the match to Weber Stat 6-1 and close out the season with a 4-13 overall record and 1-7 conference record, finishing eighth overall in the Big Sky. The Bengals were predicted to finish ninth in the preseason poll.
“We definitely saw improvement this year,” ISU Head Coach
Bobby Goeltz said. “We are looking to continue to improve in the years to come.”
