Freshman Amanda Ellsworth scored both goals for Idaho State

Freshman Amanda Ellsworth scored both goals in ISU's 2-2 tie with Boise State Sunday.
 BOISE, Idaho – Idaho State soccer tied Boise State 2-2 Sunday afternoon in the team's final match of the spring season.
 
Idaho State scored first as freshman Amanda Ellsworth scored an unassisted goal with approximately 22:00 left in the first half.
 
The Bengals claimed a demanding 2-0 lead with 20:00 remaining in the match as sophomore Lia Margolis assisted Ellsworth on her second goal of the day.
 
However, Boise State answered with a goal with 16:00 remaining and again in the final seconds of the match off a corner kick.
 
“We played some really great soccer this weekend,” ISU Head Coach Allison Gibson said. “We had some great competition and while the outcome is always important, we also had the opportunity to focus on the development our game and tweaking our game-play to focus on keeping the lead. I have had many compliments this weekend on how we have been playing. The team has just played phenomenal soccer.”
 
With the spring season over, ISU will break from competition until the beginning of the 2012 season in the fall.
