POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State (8-3, 2-0) volleyball team extended its win streak to seven Saturday night with a decisive 3-0 victory over Big Sky newcomer Southern Utah (4-8, 1-1). The Bengals won the match 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 at Reed Gym.

Tressa Lyman who posted 13 kills as well as one assist and five digs.
Redshirt senior middle blocker
Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins recorded 11 kills off 17 attempts with just two errors for an outstanding .529 attack percentage. Hone-Hawkins also posted four digs and three blocks.
Senior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every recorded 10 kills tonight as well as one assist, four digs and two blocks.
Junior setter Lori Mendenhall led Idaho State with 35 assists during the contest. She also recorded the most digs for ISU with nine. Sophomore outside hitter Alydia Fields and Hone-Hawkins led the block effort with three each.
Overall, Idaho State recorded a .391 attack percentage and six team blocks. Southern Utah edged ISU with seven blocks but struggled offensively with just a .150 attack percentage from 28 kills off 80 attempts with 16 errors. ISU boasted four service aces to SUU's two, including a match-winner from redshirt sophomore libero Kylee Searle.
“We won and we won quite decisively which is always good,” ISU Head Coach
Chad Teichert said. “Southern Utah beat Weber State last night so it was a good win. We did a lot of good things. Of course there are always some things we wish we do better, but overall we played very well. A .391 attack percentage is remarkable and we feel good about our performance.”
The Bengals remain at home next week for a pair of match-ups against Northern Colorado on Friday, Sept. 21 and North Dakota Saturday, Sept. 22. Both matches will be at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym.
