BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State volleyball (8-3, 2-0 BSC) is currently tied for first in the Big Sky Conference and hosts defending Big Sky champion Northern Colorado and Big Sky newcomer North Dakota this weekend. The Bengals play Northern Colorado Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. ISU continues the home action against Big Sky newcomer North Dakota Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. Live stats, vido and audio for the weekend's matches will be available at

ABOUT IDAHO STATE
The Bengals are 8-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play on the season after defeating Northern Arizona and Southern Utah in the opening weekend of conference action last weekend. Senior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every leads the Bengals in kills, averaging 3.58 per set. Junior setter Lori Mendenhall leads the assist effort with 450 assists and is also leading the conference, averaging 11.25 assists per set. Redshirt senior
Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins leads ISU in blocks with 34 this season while redshirt sophomore Kylee Searle leads in digs with 3.38 per set. Van Every and Searle lead ISU in service aces with 12 each.
As a team the Bengals are leading the conference in hitting percentage (.289), assists (13.30) and kills (14.27). ISU is second in the conference in service aces, average 1.48 per set.
LAST WEEK IN BENGAL VOLLEYBALL
Last week, Idaho State opened conference action as well as hosted the team's first set of home matches for the season. The Bengals defeated Northern Arizona 3-1 Friday night and Southern Utah Saturday night. The Bengals extended their win streak to seven with the two victories, the longest win streak for the program since 1991.
BENGALS ON A ROLL
Idaho State is currently on a seven-match win streak. The last time ISU won seven straight was in 1991. If ISU extends the win streak to eight this weekend against Northern Colorado, it will be the longest win streak for the program since 1989 when the Bengals won 10 straight beginning Sept. 7 against Bradley through Sept. 16 with a 3-0 win over Utah at the BYU Tournament.
BENGAL STANDOUT: LORI MENDENHALL
This week ISU junior setter Lori Mendenhall has been named co-Big Sky Player of the Week for the second week in a row. Against NAU, Mendenhall recorded a career-high 62 assists on her way to a double-double with 12 digs. Against SUU she recorded 35 assists with a team-high nine digs.
After leading the Bengals to a Keiser Classic title, Mendenhall was named Keiser Classic MVP. Mendenhall led the Bengals with 121 assists, averaging 12.10 pet set. She also recorded 11 kills, 21 digs, two service aces and three total blocks at the tournament. Against St. John's she posted a double-double with 47 assists and 12 digs. Her performance also earned her co-Big Sky Player of the Week honors for matches played Sept. 3-9.
HONE-HAWKINS NAMED ALL-TOURNAMENT

Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins earned her first all-tournament honors this season after being named to the Keiser Classic All-Tournament team. At the tournament, Hone-Hawkins posted 27 kills and a .442 attack percentage. She also recorded five digs, one assist and six blocks.
VAN EVERY NAMED TO SECOND ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Senior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every has earned all-tournament honors at the Nike Portland Invitational and El Paso Sports Commission Invitational. Van Every led the Bengals at the El Paso Sports Commission Invitational averaging 3.09 kills per set and 3.55 digs per set. She also tallied two service aces, three blocks and four assists. At the Nike Portland Invitational, Van Every led the Bengals with 46 kills. She also recorded 20 digs, three service aces and four blocks.
Van Every has been named to two all-tournament teams this season. In 2011, Van Every was named to the all-tournament teams for the Utah State Tournament and UniWyo Cowgirl Classic.
ABOUT NORTHERN COLORADO
Northern Colorado is 9-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Bears are 1-0 on the road. Tambre Haddock leads in kills and digs, averaging 3.17 kills and digs per set. Marissa Hughes leads the assist effort with 10.24 per set while Andrea Spaustat leads the Bears in blocks and service aces with 35 and 10 respectively. NC is second in the conference in digs, averaging 15.79 per set. The Bears are No. 3 in hitting percentage (.237).
SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING WITH THE BEARS
Northern Colorado leads the series 14-2. The Bears won the last meeting 3-0 Nov. 11, 2011 in Pocatello. The Bengals won the contest before that 3-2 in Greeley, Colo. Oct. 15, 2011. The win in Greeley broke an 11-match losing skid to the Bears.
ABOUT NORTH DAKOTA
North Dakota is 5-7 overall and 1-1 in conference action. UND is 0-3 on the road. Lexi Robison leads in kills with 3.26 per set while Nikki Husfeldt leads in assists with 11.12 per set. Lauren Clarke leads the dig effort with 4.33 per set while Ronni Munkeby is UND's top blocker with 39 on the season. Felicia Ulrich leads UND with 14 service aces. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
