POCATELLO, Idaho – The Idaho State volleyball team remains undefeated in Big Sky action after defeating North Dakota 3-1 Saturday night in Reed Gym. The Bengals improved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in Big Sky action while extending their win-streak to nine, the longest streak since the 1989 season. North Dakota fell to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in Big Sky action.

Redshirt freshman Tressa Lyman led Idaho State with a double-double, posting 12 kills and 14 digs. Lyman also recorded one assist and three blocks.

Sophomore Alydia Fields led the kill effort for ISU with 19 on the night. Offensively, she recorded an impressive .464 attack percentage off 19 kills with 28 total attempts and just six errors. Fields also posted six digs, one service ace and five blocks.

“Alydia had a banner night tonight,” ISU Head Coach Chad Teichert said. “She had just a phenomenal hitting percentage. She has a cousin who played at UCLA a few years ago and who was NCAA Player of the Year and who won, I believe, two national championships. Her cousin was here tonight and she was pretty impressed. When you impress a two-time NCAA Player of the Year, you've had a good night.”

Junior setter Lori Mendenhall led the Bengals with 50 assists during the contest while freshman Makenzie Filer dominated at the net with a team-high seven blocks.

Overall, ISU posted 58 kills off 155 attempts with 30 errors for a .181 attack percentage. North Dakota had 52 kills and a .162 attack percentage. Both squads boasted 13 total blocks for the contest.

“I think we played better last night but you know after you play a game against a team like Northern Colorado and you put all of your energy and emotion into it, it is so hard to play well the very next night. Given that situation, I thought the team did a very good job.”

The Bengals hit the road next week with a pair of match-ups against Montana State and Montana. ISU faces Montana State Friday, Sept. 28 in Bozeman, Mont., at 7 p.m. before taking on the Griz Saturday, Sept. 29 in Missoula, Mont., at 7 p.m.
