BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State volleyball returns home this weekend to host Southern Utah on
Friday, Oct. 25 and Northern Arizona on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Bengals are currently tied with Northern Arizona for third in the conference with Big Sky records of 7-3.
Last weekend, the Bengals split their games, losing 3-1 to Portland State and beating Eastern Washington 3-1.
AGAINST PORTLAND STATE
Idaho State dropped their match 3-1 to Portland State on Oct. 17. The Bengals lost the first set 25-17 and the second 25-21. They battled to win the third 26-24 before losing the final set 25-20.
The Bengals posted a .179 attack percentage compared to Portland State's .223. They were out-blocked 21-8.
Tressa Lyman and
Lori Mendenhall-Lee both posted double-doubles in the loss. Lyman posted 16 kills and 12 digs. Mendenhall-Lee posted 41 assists and 14 digs.
AGAINST EASTERN WASHINGTON
The Bengals topped Eastern Washington 3-1 on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Bengals topped Eastern Washington 25-20 in the first set before dropping the second 25-20. They won the last two 25-16 and 25-13.
The Bengals posted a .232 attack percentage compared to Eastern Washington's .088.
ABOUT SOUTHERN UTAH
Southern Utah is tied for 10th in the conference with a 1-9 Big Sky record. The Bengals topped Southern Utah 3-0 during the Big Sky opening weekend on Sept. 21.
Southern Utah has out-blocked their opponents in 14 of this 20 matches this season, including their first meeting with the Bengals. In that match, the Thunderbirds out-blocked the Bengals 32-10. They also posted a better hitting percentage (.101) than the Bengals (.096) in that match.
Last weekend, Southern Utah dropped matches 3-0 to North Dakota and Northern Colorado.
ABOUT NORTHERN ARIZONAÂ Â Â
Last weekend, Northern Arizona topped North Dakota 3-0 in their first Big Sky loss of the season. Northern Arizona out-blocked North Dakota 16-10 and posted a .299 hitting percentage compared to North Dakota's .160.
On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Lumberjacks fell 3-2 to Northern Colorado in Flagstaff, Ariz. Northern Colorado posted a better hitting percentage (.210) than Northern Arizona (.188), but out-blocked the Bears 31-17.
In the Bengals first match-up with Northern Arizona, Idaho State fell 3-2. In the deciding set, there were three match points before Northern Arizona ultimately won 20-18. The Bengals posted a .568 attack percentage compared to the Lumberjacks .165, but were out-blocked 31-25.
BENGALS AT HOME
The Bengals are currently on a 15-game home win streak stretching back to the 2011 season. Last season, the Bengals posted their first undefeated home season since 1987.
This season, the Bengals are undefeated at home, winning 12 straight sets at Reed Gym.
LORI MENDENHALL-LEE
Senior
Lori Mendenhall-Lee leads the conference in assists with an average of 10.77 per set and 797 assists this season. This season, Mendenhall-Lee has moved into fourth on the Bengals' all-time career assists list.
Mendenhall-Lee posted double-doubles in both the Bengals' matches last weekend as well as posting 40+ assists in both matches.
ALYDIA FIELDS-GRIMM
Junior
Alydia Fields-Grimm posted a double-double against Eastern Washington with 12 kills and 10 assists. She also posted a .320 attack percentage, three aces and two blocks.
MAKENZIE FILER
Sophomore
Makenzie Filer posted 11 kills and .348 attack percentage against Eastern Washington. With her season attack percentage of .378, Filer holds the Idaho State single season attack percentage and ranks second in the conference, first amongst Big Sky sophomores.

CHAD TEICHERT
With 51 career Big Sky wins, Head Coach
Chad Teichert has set the Idaho State record for most Big Sky wins in program history. With 91 career wins, Teichert eyes 100 career wins before the end of the season.
JoAnn Garavaglia holds the record for most career wins with 110 from 1975-1980. The 2012 Bengals rank third all-time for most wins in the single season with 23, the record stands at 31 in 1987.
